Around The Valley (12/7-12/9)

Sunday
59-75 (F)
Bradley @ #13 Michigan State: The Braves (4-2) will travel today to take on the #13 Michigan State Spartans. Bradley winners of 3 straight will face there toughest test of the season today in Lansing. The Spartans (4-2) hold losses to Maryland and #1 North Carolina, and wins over Idaho, IPFW, Oklahoma State, and Wichita State. Raymar Morgan is a big threat inside averaging 17.7 points per game. If the Braves finish within 15, consider it a win.
RPI: Bradley (51) Michigan State (42)
68-66 (F)
Indiana State @ Lamar: The Sycamores (0-6) will continue there play in the Marques Maybin Classic today against Lamar. All games are round-robin style and played in Louisville. Indiana State is coming off a 83-43 loss to the hands of Louisville in the tournament opener. Lamar (6-1) has played a weak schedule so far with there only tough opponent being Kentucky. There key wins are Louisiana-Lafeyette, Rice, Denver, and Ohio. If Indiana State doesn't get a win in one of these next two games it will be a long season for the Trees. Expect a close finish but I think Indiana State comes out on top.
RPI: Indiana State (306) Lamar (46)
Monday
50-62 (F)
Indiana State @ Ohio: This is the Sycamores final game in the Marques Maybin Classic. Ohio is coming off a 76-67 loss to Lamar in their tourney opener, so it appears this will be the match-up for 3rd place. Ohio (3-2) has losses on the year to Louisville and George Mason. They hold wins over Tulsa, Austin Peay, and William & Mary. The Bobcats main scoring threat is forward Jerome Tillman, who's averaging 21.2 points per game, and 10.4 rebounds per game.
RPI: Indiana State (306) Ohio (41)
Tuesday
46-65 (F)
Northern Iowa @ Iowa: Northern Iowa (5-3) will play in-state rival Iowa (7-2) on Tuesday in Carver Arena. It will be just the second game on the road for the Panthers. Iowa is off to a hot start with only losses to Boston College and West Virginia. They've also chalked up wins against K-State, Oakland, The Citadel, UTSA, and Charleston Southern. If UNI wants to win they'll need big games inside from Adam Koch, Jordan Eglseder, and Lucas O'Rear.
RPI: Northern Iowa (169) Iowa (83)
66-63 (F)
Drake @ Iowa State: Drake (6-2) travels to play Iowa State (6-1) in the second match-up on the day between Iowa teams. This will be just Drake's second road test of the year, there first was a 15-point loss to Vanderbilt. Iowa State winners of three straight will be a tough test for the Bulldogs. The Cyclones are led by forward Craig Brackins averaging 18 points per game. The Valley who doesn't get many match-ups against the Big-12 needs to take advantage of there limited opportunities. Jonathan Cox and Josh Young will need to lead the bulldogs.
RPI: Drake (197) Iowa State (153)

Note: In each of the five games the Valley team has a higher RPI than there opponent. So expect the 9th overall conference ranking to rise by Tuesday.
